The small-to-medium business IT support industry relied on a chaotic model whereby service providers only talked to their clients when there were troubles. Subsequently, IT companies were only ever speaking with unhappy clients. Furthermore, every time a customer experienced troubles, the service provider got to bill them by the hour. There was no incentive to make that customer's network trouble-free.
We knew there had to be a better way. We set out to align our client's goals with our own. Our customers wanted trouble-free networks and affordable support. We wanted to charge a fair price and maintain happy customers. And so, we began to develop our program. Our first four customers were on-board by 1999...the rest is managed services history.
